Struthers-Richard Bernard Grimm, 75, of 347 Center Street, died of cancer Saturday evening at the Cleveland Clinic. Mr. Grimm was born in Youngstown, November 24, 1932, a son of Gallus and Frances Spettigue Grimm. He was a lifelong resident of the area. He was semi-retired as a Certified Health and Benefits Insurance Specialist with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Earlier in his 50 year career, he was a credit manager with GMAC in Youngstown and had been general sales manager with the former Spartan Chevrolet. Mr. Grimm was a graduate of Struthers High School, where he played basketball. He was a graduate of the former Youngstown College after attending Ohio State University. He had been a member of the Ohio National Guard in Youngstown before entering the U.S. Army, where he was a sergeant in the medical corps serving in Germany. He was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, a social member of VFW Post No. 3538 and itâa�a��s golf league, the former Struthers Athletic Club, the Struthers Gridiron Club and a member of the former Vic and Sylâa�a��s and current Struthers Arbyâa�a��s 10:00 coffee group. He enjoyed his friends, camping at Holiday Camplands at Pymatuning Lake and his annual winter vacation in Florida. He was an avid reader of books and the Cleveland Plain Dealer and other newspapers. Mr. Grimm leaves his wife, the former Carol Anne Evans, whom he married June 25, 1976; two sons, Dr. Richard Grimm, and his wife, Lisa, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio and Douglas Grimm and his wife, Linette, of Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan; four grandchildren, Leah, Katherine, Julia and Alexander. His parents and a brother, Gallus âa�A"Jackâa�A� Grimm are deceased. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring Street, Struthers. A prayer service will be conducted at the funeral home Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. before processing to St. Nicholas Church for the funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery with the U.S. Army providing flag honors. The family requests that memorial tributes be made in the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad Street, Canfield, Ohio 44406 or Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman, Ohio 44512.
