Richard C. Olson

Richard Charles Olson, 72 Poland- Richard Charles Olson, 72, of 2531 Timothy Knoll died Monday evening at Forum Health Northside Medical Center. Mr. Olson was born December 14 1933 in Youngstown, a son of Oscar and Mayme Swisher Olson and lived in Poland all of his life. He was a 1951 graduate of Poland Seminary High School and in 1955 received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Youngstown College. While in college he was a member of the ROTC and after graduation served in the United States Army from September of 1955 until September of 1957. Mr. Olson was an independent manufacturing representative and in 1974 co-founded the O & M Company. In 1985 he founded the R.C. Olson Enterprises Incorporated and retired in 2001. Mr. Olson was a former member of the Youngstown Traffic Club, and was a former member and past-president (1975-1976) of the Poland Kiwanis. Mr. Olson was a member of the Poland Presbyterian Church. An automobile enthusiast, Mr. Olson was an avid reader, stock investor and enjoyed walking. Besides his wife, the former Phyllis Pollock, whom he married October 15, 1960, he leaves one daughter, Jennifer Olson of Cincinnati; and one son, Eric Olson of Poland. Mr. Olsonâa�a��s parents are deceased. Funeral services will be Friday, 12:00 Noon at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
