Struthers - Richard "Dick" D. Brownlee, 80 of Struthers, died Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at his residence, after a 7 month battle with throat cancer.

Mr. Brownlee, also known as "Monday" was born December 6, 1929 in Ambridge, PA, son of Merrel and Adelia Wilcox Brownlee.

He graduated from Struthers High School in 1948.  He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving aboard the battle ship, the USS Wisconsin and the heavy cruiser the USS Quincy.  After he completed his tour of duty, he entered Ohio Northern University School of Pharmacy, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy after which he started his career of 40 years as a Pharmacist.  While attending Ohio Northern, he was a member of the Association of Independent Men, and competed against fraternities and other independent teams, in track, softball, football and basketball.  He worked in several Pharmacies of which the major stores were, Peoples Service Drugs in Struthers and Boardman and K-Mart in Niles from which he retired.  He worked in Brine Pharmacy in Girard and part time with Struthers Family Discount Drugs.  Dick enjoyed golfing, bowling, dancing and Listening to "Hunky Music".

Dick belonged to the Struthers A.C. Club, the Americal Legion, the VFW post 3538 in Struthers, the St. Anthony Society in Struthers, the FOE # 213 in Youngstown, and a member of the former Esquire Club in Struthers.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, the former Joanne Griesdorn whom he married September 14, 1957; three daughters, Beth (Gene) Donofrio of Campbell, Susan (Frank) Ravotti of Boardman, and Theresa (David) Barka of Lanexa, VA; two sons, Edward (Jennifer) Brownlee of Louisville, KY, and last but not least, Steven Brownlee of Columbus; one brother - Frank "Dingle" (Betty) Brownlee of FL; ten grandchildren - Vincent, Gina and Danielle Donofrio, Frankie and Nicole Ravotti, Elena, Nicholas and Andrew Brownlee, Devin Fakner and Dale Barka.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his two sisters, Geraldine Quinn, and Evelyn Quattro, and a brother, Robert Brownlee.

Family and friend will be received Sunday from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers, where funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 am.  Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Lowellville.

"Most tributes say....he or she will be missed by family and friends....But I will miss them more."
