Canfield - Rev. Keith Fred Markusic, 70, went home to be with the Lord early Friday morning April 21, 2017 at Hospice of the Valley, Hospice House.
Keith, affectionately known as Pastor Markusic, was born April 9, 1947 in Youngstown, a son of Frank and Wilma (Eich) Markusic.
He was a 1965 graduate of Youngstown Cardinal Mooney High School. Pastor later went on to receive his Bachelors Degree in Nursing from Youngstown State University. Fred was a member of the Alpha Phi Delta fraternity.
He was Director of Nursing at Robinson Memorial Hospital in Ravenna from 1988-1993.
In 1993 he became an Associate Pastor at Trinity Fellowship Church, the church that he was a charter member for 33 years.
Pastor Markusic was very involved in the church over the years having lead the Married Couples Ministry and was the worship leader. He had a true heart of worship and loved singing praises to his Savior.
Pastor exemplified grace and mercy in his everyday life. He had an amazing faith in Jesus, no matter what he went through in this life he knew that God was in control and he didn't let that take his joy. He had a gift of memorizing scripture and reciting it and was a blessing to his church family and all those who knew him.
Pastor Markusic loved his country and was very patriotic having served as Military Police in United States Army from 1966-1968.
He loved people and relationships, and spending time with his grandchildren. One of his favorite past times was watching movies.
He is survived by his wife, the former Liz Taylor of Canfield, whom he married Aug. 15, 1981; two daughters, Reba (Rick) Babyak of Poland and Hannah Conklin of Canfield; one son, Caleb (Carrie) Markusic of Winston Salem, NC; one sister, Shirley (Don) Blasko of Poland; and five grandchildren, Andrew and Noah Babyak, Parker and Ava Conklin, and Karington Markusic.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents.
Services will be held at Trinity Fellowship Church, 4749 South Ave., Boardman, Sunday April 23, 2017 at 6:00 p.m., with full military honors.
Family and friends will be received today, April 22, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Trinity Fellowship Church and one hour prior to the service of Sunday.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions may be made to the family in c/o Trinity Fellowship Church, 4749 South Ave., Boardman, OH 44512.
