BOARDMAN--Reva M.(Marteney) Herman, 80 of Shepherd of the Valley, died Saturday morning, August 8, 2009 at the Hospice House.
Mrs. Herman was born May 14, 1929 in Carolton, WV, daughter of John and Noami Shackelford Queen.
She was Protestent by faith and worked as a cook for various area restaurants including the Amaco Truck Stop. Mrs. Herman loved crafts, she had won several blue ribbons for her wreaths she made for the Canfield Fair. She also loved to write poetry and reading the bible.
Her first husband, Junior Franklin Marteney, who she married May 30, 1947, died July 21, 1983, and her second husband Ronald J. Herman whom she married September 25, 1984, died June 20, 2004.
She is survived by two sons, David Marteney of AL and Larry (Debra) Marteney of New Waterford, one sister, Nancy P. Henry of LA; two grandchildren, Stephany (David) Darby of Austintown and Daniel Blaine Marteney of East Palestine; and two Great-Grandchildren - Makenna Erin Darby and Mason Glenn Darby.
Besides her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Gaskins,Marchellis (Margaret) Queen and Betty Karakiozis; and three brothers, Junior Queen, Johnny Queen and Charlie Queen.
Services will be held at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland, Tuesday at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow in the Green Haven Memorial Gardens in Canfield.
Friends will be received Monday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland
