Regina E. Delsander

Boardman - Regina Elizabeth Massaro Delsander, 76, passed away Friday evening, April 8, 2011 at her home.

Mrs. Delsander was born December 17, 1934 in Youngstown, a daughter of Felix and Edith Labato Massaro.

She attended South High School. Prior to her marriage, Mrs. Delsander worked as a cashier at Kroeger's and Ralph's Grocery Stores.

She was a longtime and faithful member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers, where she was very active. Mrs. Delsander enjoyed listening to music and loved spending time in the company of her family and friends.

She leaves her husband, John Delsander, whom she married June 4, 1960 at Mt. Carmel Church; her daughter, Denise Mineo of Youngstown; son, John (Cindy) Delsander of Youngstown; two sisters, Carmela (Edward) Farris and Rosemary Housteau, both of Boardman; brother, Edward (Imagene) Massaro of Poland; and eight grandchildren, Maria, Salvatore, Dominic, Gina, Joseph, and Annie Mineo, and John and Nicolette Delsander.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Dominic Pontillo and Anthony Massaro.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, 764 Fifth Street. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland and Tuesday one prior to the Mass at the church.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to Hospice of the Valley for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Mrs. Delsander.
