North Lima- Raymond Albert Suffolk, 67, formerly of Lowellville and Austintown, died December 30, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center. After becoming seriously ill, Raymond has resided at Caprice Health Care Center in North Lima for the past several years.
Mr. Suffolk was born June 25, 1943 in New Castle, PA, a son of the late Raymond and Michelina "Minnie" Carbone Suffolk.
He was raised in Lowellville and attended Lowellville High School. In 1961 and 1962, Raymond completed courses in Arc Welding at the New Castle School of Trades. In 1965, he graduated from the Academy for Home Study and received his GED.
Raymond previously worked at the Cheese House Factory in New Wilmington, PA. From June of 1967 to November of 2004, he worked as a forklift operator at General Motors in Lordstown.
He was a member of the UAW Local 1112 and participated in a bowling league. Raymond enjoyed vacationing in Hawaii and Ireland.
He is survived by his brother, James (Beverly) Suffolk of Kent; a niece, Rebecca (Kurt) Somogye of Bucyrus; and a nephew, James R. Suffolk of Wadsworth.
A prayer service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Lowellville followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary with Fr. John Sheridan officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received Monday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
