New Springfield - Raymond C. Mosko, 83, died Tuesday evening, January 14, 2014 at the Hospice House.
Raymond was born December 15, 1930 in Powhatan, WV, a son of George and Elsie Nitz Mosko.
A 1949 graduate of Elkhorn High School, Raymond worked as a Mill Wright for Republic Steel. He was a member of the New Springfield Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
Pop Pop was loved dearly by his family and friends. His porch and tap were always ready for an impromptu visit, which always turned into a party. He will always be remembered for spending many hours in his pristine garden erasing any signs of footprints while growing the most delicious vegetables that he loved to share. He will be greatly missed by his loved ones.
Raymond's wife, the former Dottie Belcher, whom he married November 22, 1950, died August 17, 2009. He is survived by his two daughters, Carolyn (Raul) Burbano of Centerville, OH and Bitsy (Chappie) Bair of Poland; three sisters, Mary Richardson of Kimball, WV, Joanie Greear of Norton, VA, and Margaret Johnson of Bluefield, WV; a brother-in-law, Carl Sheets of Warren; sister-in-law, Maxine Mosko of Powhatan, WV; three granddaughters, Kristin (John) Masucci of Poland, Susie (Chad) McGarry of Beavercreek and Mikki (Dr. Brian) Mihok of Kettering; two grandsons, Dr. Booker (Holly) Bair of Canfield, and Tucker (Robert Digiandomenico) Bair of Pittsburgh; six great-grandchildren, Syda and Sammie Masucci, Mikayla and Bella Mihok, and Brinkley and Tyce Bair.
Besides his parents and wife, Raymond was preceded in death by his two brothers, George Mosko Jr, and James Mosko; and his sister, Genevieve Nichols.
Memorial services will be held Friday, 7:00 PM at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Aimee Raymond officiating. Interment will be at the New Springfield Cemetery.
Friends will be received Friday from 5-7 PM at the church.
