Randy Heaver

New Middletown - Randall P. Heaver, 47, died Wednesday evening, July 9, 2014 at his home after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Randall, affectionately known as "Randy," was born August 4, 1966 in Youngstown, a son of the late Paul and Martha Weaver Heaver.

He was a 1984 graduate of Springfield Local High School. After graduation, he joined the United States Army and served for six years while being stationed in Korea and White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. Randy worked as an ASE Certified Bus Technician for MCBDD for 20 years.

He was a member of the Allen Lodge #276 Free and Accepted Masons and The International Defensive Pistol Association. In his free time, Randy enjoyed home remodeling projects, working on his Jeeps, cheering for the Steelers, going to the firing range, and most of all surrounding himself around family and friends and enjoying a good laugh with them.

Randy leaves his wife, the former Peggy Jo Traynor, whom he married March 27, 2007; three sons, Josh (Tabitha) Heaver of North Lima, Joel Heaver of Foley, AL, and Patrick (Jessica) Garritano of Berea; and daughter, Amy (Chip) Garritano-Meek of Berea; his granddaughter and the apple of his eye, Sophia Garritano; two brothers, Bruce (Cindy) Heaver of Brunswick and Denny (Cindy) Heaver of Columbiana; and he will be sadly missed by two nieces and four nephews.

A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman. Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Randy's family would like to express their appreciation and thank all of his family, friends, and MCBDD work family for their outpouring of support and love throughout his illness.
