LAKE MILTON - Randall "Randy" A. Kern, 54, formerly of Struthers, died Thursday evening, Dec. 17, 2015. at University Hospital in Cleveland from leukemia.
Randall, affectionately known as "Randy," was born Sept. 24, 1961, in Youngstown, a son of Randall and Betty Balogh Kern.
Raised in Struthers, Randy was a 1979 graduate of Struthers High School. After graduation, he worked for Jackson Bailey Electric until their closing and then moved to Naples, Fla., for several years, before returning to Struthers and later to Lake Milton.
Randy worked most of his career in construction as a carpenter. He worked for various companies throughout the years, most recently for Tricon Construction as a superintendent. He often traveled for work and enjoyed visiting many different places across the United States.
He had a passion for motorcycles and loved riding his Harley Davidson, especially making trips to Geneva on the Lake. Randy also enjoyed boating on Lake Milton with his children and family. Randy had a strong work ethic and a wonderful sense of humor.
In addition to his mother, Betty of Boardman, Randy is survived by his two daughters, Kayla (Tony) Ruozzo of Struthers and Karastin Kern of Dublin; a brother, Rick (Debbie) Kern of Struthers; and three nephews, Ricky, Ryan, and Tyler Kern.
Randy was preceded in death by his father.
Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 5 to 7p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers.
A private graveside service will be held for the family.
