Poland- A prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday January 25, 2016 at the Cunningham Becker Funeral Home in Poland followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Church for Ramonita (Rae) Colon Fisher, who passed away at the Hospice House in Poland after a brave battle with Cancer.

Rae was born on August 31, 1944 in Anasco, Puerto Rico. She was the daughter of Leocadio and Ramona Colon and came to the United States at the age of 11. She attended the Youngstown City Schools and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. She attended Youngstown State University and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree with certification to teach Spanish and English. She began teaching and at the same time completed her Master of Arts Degree at Youngstown State University. Rae married her husband Samuel Fisher while both were attending Youngstown State University. Rae taught Spanish for 33 years at Austintown Fitch High School and retired in 1999.

Rae loved to play golf, play cards with her friends, and go to casinos. The thing that she most loved was babysitting her 3 granddaughters Nina, Raegan and Tessa. Rae loved life and made a friend wherever she went. Whatever the need of family and friends, she was always there to help with kind words and deeds. She was truly a wonderful lady in every sense of the word.

Rae leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband Sam of 48 years, daughters, Samantha (Anthony Nappo), Suzanne Greenaway, and Joanna Keiper. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Nathan, Nicholas, Andrew, Gina, Nina, Raegan and Tessa. In addition, she leaves her loving siblings and their husbands and wives, Jose (Maria), Ricardo (Ellie), Hector (Maria), Fred (Maria), Antonio (Josefa), Abraham (Becky), and sisters Anabel (Stephen), Evelyn (Douglas) and Angie (Jose). She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Delfin, Juan Jose, and Giovanni.

Family and friends will be received on January 24, 2016 from 4-7 p.m. at the Cunningham Becker Funeral Home in Poland and again on Monday January 25, 2016 at 9:00-9:30.
