RALPH A. McKELVEY-83 BOARDMAN-Ralph A. McKelvey, 83, of Shepherd of the Valley, formerly of Poland, died Wednesday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Health Center. He was born August 30, 1922 in Youngstown, a son of late Clyde & Mary Patch McKelvey. He was a life long resident of the area. Mr. McKelvey was a Protestant by faith. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the Army Air Corps. He had worked as a lineman at Ohio Edison retiring in 1985 after 40 years. He was a member of Argus Lodge No. 545 F. & A.M.in Canfield, Al Koran Shrine, the Youngstown Shrine Club and the Poland Masonic Breakfast Club, where he was a member of their golf league. Mr. McKelvey was an avid supporter of the Shrine Orthopedic and Burn Hospitals which provide the finest high level care for children without charge. He gave personal and financial support to their efforts as well as the work of the Youngstown Shrine Club which provides transportation for local patients to and from the Erie and Cincinnati hospitals. His wife, the former Betty Irene Hass whom he married September 29, 1951 died February 2, 1995. At Mr. McKelveyâa�a��s request there are no services or calling hours. He was buried beside his wife in Firestone Cemetery in Columbiana.
