Poland - Ralph Wayne Heberling, 92, of Poland, died Friday, December 4, 2009 at Forum Health Northside Medical Center.
Mr. Heberling was born March 2, 1917 in Youngstown, a son of the late Edwin and Florence Stamm Heberling. He was a life long area resident.
Mr. Heberling was a 1935 graduate of South High and a World War II Army Veteran. He served in Normandy, Northern France and the Rhineland and received the European Theater Ribbon with three Bronze Stars, the American Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Ribbon, and a Purple Heart with one oak leaf cluster.
Mr. Heberling worked as a shearman for Cold Metal and then for Jones and Laughlin, retiring in 1979 after 39 years. He was a member of the Faith Community Church.
His wife, the former Mary Louise Black, whom he married June 28, 1948, died June 30, 2000. He leaves his daughter, Kathleen of Lowellville, two sisters-in-law, Margaret Black of St. Louis, MO and Isabell Sedivick of Mayfield Heights in Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am at Faith Community Church, where friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers.
