Campbell - Ralph Duplessis, 89, of Campbell, died Sunday evening, July 5th , at St. Elizabeth Medical Center after a long illness.
Ralph was born September 29, 1919 in New Orleans, LA., a son of Edwin and Theresa Lambert Duplessis. He was raised in New Orleans and after retirement resided in Campbell.
Ralph was a United States Army Veteran from 1941 until 1971. He served in World War II, the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam and retired after 30 years of service with the rank of Sergeant First Class. After making his home here in Campbell, he worked in the maintenance department of YoungstownStateUniversity for 10 years retiring in 1982.
He was a member of the VFW Post #6488 and the AARP.
His wife, the former Alice Moore, whom he married January 10, 1946, died January 3, 2000. He leaves one daughter, Premjai Duplessis, with whom he made his home; two grandchildren, John (Amber) Sewell, Jr. and Andre' Collier, Jr.; and three great-grandchildren, Olivia, Ian, and Tai Sewell.
Besides his parents and wife, Ralph was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise O'Conner and Theresa Jolibore; and two brothers, Joseph and Anthony Duplessis.
Services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers with Raymond Linebaugh officiating. Interment will be scheduled at a later date at Arlington Cemetery.
Friends will be received Saturday from 9:45 a.m until 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
