Ralph E. "Butch" Cash
Ralph E. "Butch" Cash passed away Friday, September 6 at home surrounded by his family following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born August 18, 1941 in Akron, Ohio. A son of James and Bessie Cash, he grew up on the family farm in Atwater, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Cynthia, and his Children Brett (Christina) of Boardman, Todd (Ashley) of Charlotte, NC, Rose (John) Rose of Atwater, OH, Chris (Rick) Douthitt of Atwater, OH, and Tonya Cash. Also surviving are his loving siblings Bettie Brothers (Stow, OH), Howard (Arlene) Cash (Manhattan, MT), Ray (Selma) Cash (Aurora, CO), Linda (John) Ryan (Cuyahoga Falls, OH), four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Butch was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Jerry and Jim, and his sisters Faye Beaty, Marilyn Farner, and Pat Grooms.
Butch retired from GM in 2006 after 30 years of service. He was a supervisor in the former van plant, the body shop, and the material department.
His favorite thing to do was spend time with his family. He also enjoyed golf, antiques, karaoke, woodworking, and a good book. In his retirement he especially enjoyed traveling with his wife.
Calling hours will be Monday, September 9 from 4:30 to 6:30 at Mt. Olivet UCC, 410 W South Range Road, North Lima, Ohio. A memorial service, officiated by Pastors Jerry Kruse and John Ryan, will follow.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Butch's memory to Seidman Cancer Center at University Hospitals Case medical Center, PO Box 7497, Cleveland, OH.
Dad, we know you will always be there for us but in the words of one of your favorite country songs it is time to "go rest high on that mountain" and be with the ones you love.
