Poland - Ralph P. Carrocce, 89, of Poland, died Tuesday, April 8, 2008 at his residence. Ralph was born March 25, 1919 in Lowellville, a son of Larry and Theresa Manzi Carrocce. He was a lifelong area resident. Ralph was owner and operator of R.P. Carrocce Trucking since 1946. He was a WWII Army veteran having served in the Battle of the Bulge. He received two Purple Hearts, the Good Conduct Medal, the Distinguished Unit Badge, the European African Middle Eastern Campaign with three Bronze Stars, and the Victory Medal. Ralph was a member of Holy Family Church and the Knights of Columbus in Poland. He enjoyed bowling and his hobbies included motorcycles, cars, and trucks. He leaves his wife the former, Irene Sugar, whom he married November 19, 1936; two sons, Ronald Carrocce and Gary (Lucinda) Carrocce, both of Canfield; a brother, Domenic (Veronica) Carrocce of Struthers; four sisters, Lena Grannie of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Carmel Masterangelo of Los Gatos, California, Anne Balogh of Austintown, and Virginia Centofanti of Struthers; four grandchildren, Mark (Sharon) Carrocce, Troy (Melissa) Carrocce, Kevin Carrocce, and Tiffany Carrocce, all of Canfield; nine great-grandchildren, Mark, Jr., Alex, Stephanie, Drew, Elizabeth, Jessica, Cody, Corey, and Clara Carrocce; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Carrocce; two sisters, Catherine Orneles and Mary Commisso; and three brothers, Bruno, Victor, and James Carrocce. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Holy Family Church. Interment will be in Poland Riverside Cemetery. Family and friends will be received Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, where a prayer service will be held Saturday at 12:30 p.m. Please visit
