Poland - Phyllis A. Morrell, 63, of Poland, died Tuesday afternoon at her residence after a courageous seven year battle with Leukemia.
Phyllis was born September 6, 1948 in Kingsport, TN, a daughter of Golden and Margaret Mullins Johnson. She was raised in Tennessee and came to this area in 1966.
A1966 graduate of Katron High School, Phyllis went on to receive her Bachelor Degree in Mental Health from Harding University of Tennessee. Phillyis was employed as a Mental Health Counselor for Turning Point Counseling Center in Youngstown for 27 years. Phyllis's love of life was being with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Phyllis leaves her daughter and son-in law, Renee and Keith Micco, and grandchildren, Anthony, Alex, and Gianna all of Boardman; two sons and daughters in law, Michael and Gina Morrell and grandchildren, Michelle and Megan all of Warren and William and Julie Morrell and grandchildren Tyler, Kassandra, Spencer and Hunter all of Youngstown; one sister, Donna Zarlengo of Poland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Johnson.
Funeral services will be held Friday, 10:00 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond "Skip" Linebaugh officiating. Interment will follow at the Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.
Friends may call Friday from 9:00 AM until 9:45 AM at the funeral home.
