Phyllis Ann "Flip" Gasior, 73
BOARDMAN - A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ of Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers at 10 a.m. on Saturday for Phyllis Ann "Flip" Gasior, 73, who passed away peacefully Wednesday morning.
Phyllis was born Jan. 8, 1942, in Youngstown, a daughter of Phillip and Pauline (Marino) Navarro.
She was married to her beloved husband, Frank, on Sept. 7, 1963, at St. Christine's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her son, Frank Gregory of West Palm Beach, Fla.; her daughter, Gina Marie of Youngstown; her sister, Joan (Lou) Zarlenga of Canfield; sisters-in-law, Janet Gasior of Concord Township and Delores Alexis of Georgia; and her beloved dogs, Zoey and Kirby, whom she adored.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Frank, who passed away in 2014.
After attending Sacred Heart and East High School, she graduated from Chaney High School in 1959. That same year, she graduated from Choffin Career Center with a degree in Cosmetology, which she put to practice for over 40 years. Mrs. Gasior worked for the Boardman School District for over 30 years, managing several school cafeteria programs. Mrs. Gasior also worked as a Precinct Election Official for the Board of Elections for over 20 years and was a Precinct Committee Person for her district. Mrs. Gasior was an active member of the Mahoning Valley Corvette Club and was a past member of the Boardman Poland Junior Women's League and the Youngstown Democratic Women's Club.
"Flip" was known as a fantastic cook and spent countless hours researching recipes from her extensive recipe book collection. She loved going to the casinos and playing the slots and was an avid animal lover.
Her family would like to thank Hospice of the Valley, especially Becky and Beth, for their kindness and support.
