Philip J. Neiheisel, known to his friends as "Wally", passed away peacefully at the Cleveland Clinic on February 7, 2014, due to complications of a massive heart attack.
Philip was born on July 11, 1942 in Youngstown, a son of Joseph F. and Mary Katherine Neiheisel.
He was raised in Boardman and was a 1961 graduate of Boardman High School.
Philip served in the United States Army from 1963-1966 as a sharpshooter, and was honorably discharged from the Army Reserves in 1969.
He began his 39 year career in the steel industry at Youngstown Sheet & Tube in August of 1966 and retired from WCI Steel in July of 2005.
He was an active and loyal member of St. Dominic Church. Philip was a very giving and generous man, supporting numerous charities, including The Alzheimers Foundation in memory of his mother.
Philip's hobbies included computer gaming, photography, and astronomy.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, 10:00 AM at St. Dominic Church.
Family and friends and will be received Wednesday from 5-7 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland where a Prayer service will be held Thursday at 9:15 AM.
