Paul Tiihonen Columbiana- Paul Tiihonen, 76, formerly of Poland, died Saturday evening at the St. Maryâa�a��s Alzheimerâa�a��s Center. Mr. Tiihonen was born October 26, 1925, in Youngstown a son of the late Usko August and Elma Savolainen Tiihonen, and grew up and attended school in the area. He was a driver for the Youngstown Municipal Railway, before moving to California in 1957, where he worked for the San Diego Transit Authority, retiring in 1988. He then moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona, returning to the Youngstown area in 1998. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he served on the USS Arcadia, in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Campbell and a Life Member of the Lake Havasu City, AZ, VFW #1309. Besides his wife the former Eva Rushen, whom he married April 26, 1946, he is survived by three daughters: Paulette and son-in-law Richard Eizonas of Smyrna, GA; Carole and son-in-law Robert Miller of Alpharetta, GA; Noreen and son-in-law Steven Karaginides of San Diego, CA; a sister Viola Baksa of Hubbard; one brother: David of Warren; five grandchildren: Erik, Tracey; Troy; Chad; Sara; and two great-grandsons: Parker and Taylor. Funeral services will be held 5:30 PM, Tuesday, at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers. Friends may call between 4:30 and 5:15 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
