Boardman- Paul W. Rienerth, 67, formerly of Poland, died Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at his home. Mr. Rienerth was born October 6, 1946 in Youngstown, a son of Paul and Lauretta Flack Rienerth.
He graduated in 1964 from Poland Seminary High School and enlisted in the Navy, where he served for four years. After receiving his bachelor's degree in accounting from Youngstown State University, Mr. Rienerth worked as an accountant for Gulf and Western. He pursued a passion for cycling as a master mechanic at Bike Nashbar, where he assembled professional-level bicycles. He retired from General Extrusions.
Mr. Rienerth was a life member of the ACLU, League of American Bicyclists, Out-Spokin' Wheelmen (OSW), Mahoning Valley Historical Society, and YSU Alumni Association. During his lifelong support of OSW, he brought others into the sport and was always willing to advise and help others, particularly his friends. Additional interests included music and hiking. He thoroughly enjoyed his work as a volunteer with the Radio Reading program at Goodwill.
He leaves his wife, the former Lark Dickstein, whom he married May 14, 2011; sister, Gail (Tom) Prager of Pittsburgh, PA; niece, Amy Prager of Pittsburgh; nephew, Christopher (Rene) Prager of Concord, NC; great nieces, Emma and Kate Prager of Concord, NC; uncle and aunt, Dutch and Alice Ann Flack of Struthers; many cousins; two step-sons, Jacob (Orit) Dickstein of Israel and Ben (Michelle) Dickstein of Cincinnati; and two grandchildren, Arbel and Clara.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Rienerth.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. and Friday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions in Mr. Rienerth's name to any of the organizations he was a life member of, Radio Reading, or the Mill Creek Park Foundation.
