Paul W. Gulacy, 84 Boardman- Paul W. Gulacy, 84, of The Greenbriar formerly of 7220 Pennsylvania Ave. in Poland died of cancer Monday evening at The Greenbriar. Mr. Gulacy was born January 5, 1921 in Hubbard a son of Stephen and Elizabeth Balla Gulacy. A 1939 graduate of Hubbard High School, Mr. Gulacy was a truck driver for Schwebelâa�a��s Baking Company for over 30 years. Mr. Gulacy was a World War II Navy Veteran and member of Bethel Friends Church in Poland. After high school, Mr. Gulacy played professional baseball and was a pitcher for the St. Louis Browns and in 2003 was inducted into the Old Timers Baseball Hall of Fame. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed golfing with his friends at Tanglewood Golf Course. Besides his wife the former Virginia Raseta whom he married October 23, 1948 he leaves a daughter, Janet L. Williams of Poland; a son, Paul Gulacy of Portland, Oregon and one granddaughter, Paige Gulacy also of Portland, Oregon. Besides his parents, two brothers, Stephen and Frank Gulacy and one sister, Elizabeth Bartholomew preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Saturday, 11:00 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland where friends may call Friday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent at
