Paul Glenn Ellis

Poland - Paul Glenn Ellis, 80, entered his Heavenly home after a long battle with dementia early Wednesday morning, February 3, 2016

Glenn as he preferred, was born at home in Struthers, Ohio, the first son of E. Jack and Ellen LaForce Ellis on February 14, 1935.

He graduated from Struthers High School in 1952. He worked for Automatic Sprinkler prior to his voluntary draft into the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict where he served in Germany and France. While there, he took overseas classes at the University of Maryland. On his return to the U.S.A. he attended Youngstown College majoring in transportation.

In April of 1962, he attended a house party with a friend. There he met the love of his life, his wife, Lucile Laughlin of Penn Hills, PA. They married 52 years ago on July 6, 1963.

Glenn is survived by his wife; his son, Wayne K. of Melbourne, FL; a daughter, Jean (Donald) Harrison of Racine, WI; a granddaughter, Brittney Lynn Harrison; a brother, John William Ellis of Morgantown, GA; several nieces, and nephews; and great nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents and three sisters, Ruby Rupe, Virginia Landy, and Verna Margaret Gething.

Glenn worked as a sales representative for CW Transport and as a car salesman for Frederick Dodge.

He was a member of the Poland Presbyterian Church, where he served as elder, deacon, and usher. Glenn was a 50 year member of Poland Lodge F&AM #766, where he was their first candidate. He was a Past Patron of Corem Chapter OES and Lamplight Chapter OES of Poland. He belonged to High Twelve and the Mahoning County Olde Car Club with his 1961 Dodge Lancer.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, 11:00 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers with Rev. Dr. Brent J. Eelman officiating.

Friends will be received Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Saturday from 10-10:45 AM at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Dr. James Demidovich and the staff at Ivy Woods and Hospice of the Valley for their compassionate care and concern for Glenn.
