Paul J. Barger, 85 Columbiana-Paul J. Barger, 85, of Alisha Lane passed away earlier this week at his residence. Mr. Barger was born in Youngstown April 4, 1920 a son of Paul K. and Florence Burkey Barger. He leaves three daughters, Wendy (Perry) Curtin of Lebanon, PA, Patricia (Ron) Jayne of Youngstown, and Shirley Williams of Struthers; a son, Paul (Mary-Brooke) Barger of Oakmont, PA; a brother, Carl Barger; 9 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean in January 1999; and a brother, Kenneth Barger. He graduated from Struthers High School in 1983. Paul served in Company A, 802nd Engineering Aviation Battalion during World War II from March 1942 through April 1945, on Okinawa and the Aleutian Islands in the Pacific Theater. After the war he formed Barger Construction Company of which he was the President and CEO, until retiring in 1983. He had life-long enjoyment of baseball, golf, and most especially fishing. Many family members have pieces of furniture and cabinetry created by his hands. Friends may call Monday from 4-6 PM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
