Patrick L. Valentino

Patrick L. Valentino, 75, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Health Center in Boardman.

Mr.Valentino was born in Youngstown, August 10, 1942, a son of Patrick J. and Theresa Ignozzi Valentino.

He was a 1960 graduate of Boardman High School and attended Youngstown State University. Pat worked for 34 years at the Youngstown Vindicator as a printer and compositor, where he retired in 2002.

He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Church in New Middletown. Pat was a longtime member of the Youngstown Vindicator golf league, enjoyed bowling, basketball. He was a lifelong N.Y. Yankees baseball fan and Pittsburgh Steelers football fan.

Pat was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Pat is survived by his wife R. Delores Sorvillo Valentino, whom he married Oct. 12, 1968; two children, Lisa Marie (Bill) Miller of Springfield and Patrick J. (Brandy) Valentino of Dallas, TX; grandchildren, Sydney and Drew Miller; Mayce Landes, and Morgan and Tate Valentino; and one great-grandson, Eli; one sister, Carol Sue Valentino of Naples, FL; sister-in-laws, Mary Currao, Josephine (Richard) Cataffa, Elisa Ziccardi, Gloria Raimondi, and Clara Sorvillo; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Angelo and Donna Sorvillo; and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Pat was preceded in death by a daughter Deana Marie Valentino in 2007, and one sister, JoAnn Valentino.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 10:00AM at the St. Paul the Apostle Church, with Fr. Larry Frient officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

Friends and family will be received Monday from 5-8PM at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman and Tuesday from 9:00-9:45AM at the church.
