LOWELLVILLE-Patricia M. McGinnis, 58, formerly of Hubbard, passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Health Center after a one year illness.
She was born June 19, 1952 in Youngstown, a daughter of Clifford and Connie Sandora McGinnis. Patty was a lifelong resident of Hubbard until moving to Lowellville in 2004.
She was a 1970 graduate of Hubbard High School and received her bachelor's degree in teaching from Youngstown State University.
She first worked for Hulburt Florist in Hubbard and later opened her own floral shop called Balloons and Blossoms in Hubbard for 10 years. Patty also worked in an attorney's office for several years.
Patty loved gardening, especially tending to her rose and vegetable gardens, quilting, decorating her home, and she was very handy when it came to doing projects around the house.
She leaves her mother, Connie, of Lowellville, with whom she made her home; her beautiful welsh corgi, Lily; two aunts; and numerous cousins.
Patty was preceded in death by her father; and her other welsh corgi, Grady.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Lowellville. Interment will follow at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received Monday from 5-7 p.m. and Tuesday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions in Patty's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
