Boardman - Patricia Anne Holmes, 85, of Boardman, died early Monday morning at The Greenbriar.
Patricia, affectionately known as "Pat or Tish", was born July 26, 1927 in Youngstown, a daughter of Judge Ford P. and Alma Lamb Agey.
A life-long resident of Boardman, Pat graduated from Boardman High School in 1945. Pat received her degree in nursing from St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in 1949. She dedicated her life to taking care of the elderly and began her career as Director of Nursing for Peaceful Acres. She later was Director of Nursing for Colonial Manor, Assumption Village and finally Westwood Rehabilitation. She retired in 1992 after 43 years of service. During her career, Pat was recognized as Who's Who of American Nursing. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Boardman where she taught Sunday School.
When not working Pat loved traveling, knitting, and reading, A devoted grandmother, Pat's greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Pat's husband, Edward J. Holmes, whom she married June 1, 1949 died November 17, 1973; She leaves one daughter, Christine (James) Bierdeman of Boardman; one son, Douglas (Nancy) Holmes of Reynoldsburg, OH; three grandchildren, Matthew (Angela) Bierdeman of Lake Milton, Jennifer Bierdeman of Boardman, and Scott (Kelly) Holmes of Blacklick, OH; five great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Mercedez, Matthew, Peyton, and Jackson; and her sister-in-law and best friend, Mary "Gret" Agey of Boardman.
Besides her parents and husband, Pat was preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Wayne Agey.
Pat's family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the wonderful care provided by the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital, PCCU2 and The Greenbriar.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 8th at 2:00 PM at Bethel Lutheran Church, Boardman. Friends may call Saturday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the church.
