Patricia Gwenllian Gorby

Boardman - Patricia Gwenllian Gorby, 74, died October 3, 2018 at the Inn at Walker Mill.

Patricia was born November 15, 1943 in Llanelli, Wales, a daughter of the late John and Audrey Alford Tregurtha.

She was a 1962 graduate of South High School and later attended Penn College and worked at General Fireproofing for a few years as a secretary.

While being a full-time mother, Patricia worked at BUMP for 10 years and was also a personnel nanny. She was very involved in the community was President of St. David Society, member of Calon Lan for many years, and Den Leader for cub scouts. She was also a Boardman Little League team mom and was team mom for all sports her kids were involved in and was their biggest fan. She was a member of Boardman United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School and Bible School and was in the choir. Patricia was also an avid pet lover and had a love of music.

One of her accomplishments was she received an award for Welsh Women of the Year.

Her husband, Richard Lee Gorby, whom she married Aug. 22, 1964, died Jan. 7, 2009.

She is survived by four sons, Brian (Charlotte) Gorby of Boardman, Keith Gorby of Boardman, Kevin (Karen) Gorby of Sagamore Hills, Dr. Paul (Dr. Julie) Gorby of Lenexa, Kansas; one sister, Janys Tregurtha Venne of St, Petersburg, FL; one brother, Graham (Maizie) Tregurtha of St. Petersburg, FL; and eight grandchildren, Jersey, Beau, Julie, Brennan, Dean, Alea, Eden, and Odin.

There will be no calling hours. A celebration of life will be held Saturday Oct. 20, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Boardman United Methodist Church. The viewing of Patricia's urn will be from 5-6PM and a catered meal will be from 6-8PM.

Arrangements are being handled by Davis-Becker Funeral Home, Boardman.
