Poland - Pastor Arlie Gordon Dorman, 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by those he loved most on February 20, 2025 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boardman.
He was born November 28, 1943 in Cape Girardeau, MO, the son of the late Arlie and Geneva (Presley) Dorman.
Arlie was called into the ministry beginning at the age of 18 and dedicated his life to serving the Lord and his community. His faith was the foundation for all that he did and touched the lives of those around him, especially with Teen Challenge, something he was passionate about. He began his career as an evangelist in Missouri before making his way to the area, where he served as pastor of the Faith Fellowship Church of God.
He shared a love for travel with his beloved wife, and together they cherished the opportunity to walk the streets of Jerusalem, experiencing the Holy Land firsthand. Truly he was the gold standard of a husband, dad, grandpa, pastor, mentor, and friend. He was a devoted family man and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called him Palpal.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 64 years, the former Annette Strutman; his daughters, Julie (Chad Royer) Hamilton of Poland and Jeanette (Mike) Clark of Poland; daughter-in-law, June Dorman; his grandchildren, Brian and Bobby (Loni) Nelson, Christopher and Mara (Shay) Dorman, Greg (Meredith), Holly (Jason), and Brad (Dana) Hamilton, Alexandria, Allison, and Abby Williams, Christina (Victor) Shaw, Amber (Nick) Belanger, and Ashley (Devin) Douglas; many great-grandchildren; and bonus daughter, Jamie Kinnick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Jaime Lynn Guidos; and his son, Arlie "Gordon" Dorman, Jr.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman.
