Mc Donald - Pamela Sulka, 64, of Mc Donald, died early Thursday morning at Hospice of the Valley, Hospice House after a six month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Pam was born June 5, 1948 in Youngstown, a daughter of William "Bud" and June Jugenheimer Lomax. She was raised in Poland and graduated from Poland Seminary High School in 1966. Pam met her husband Joseph at a friend's wedding, and they wed on January 29, 1968.
Pam lived life to the fullest. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Elizabeth Medical Center and was always interested in current events. An accomplished pianist and vocalist, Pam had a deep love of music. She had a passion for style and took great pride in always dressing tastefully. She loved her home and was very creative with decorating, sewing and crafts. Pam loved baking and cooking and was known for her culinary talents. Her talent for cooking and her voracious love of reading later inspired her children in their chosen careers. Pam and Joseph, together, spent their summers happily cooking and entertaining for their friends, poolside, at their home in McDonald. Not only did they entertain, but they were always available to assist family and friends and devoted many hours assisting their elderly parents. Many of their children's friends considered Pam's house to be their second home.
Pam maintained her sense of humor throughout her illness and throughout her life always maintained a strong spiritual center. Pam is at peace now and will forever be our guardian angel watching over everyone she came in contact with, just as she did in life.
Besides her mother June of Poland, Pam leaves her husband of 44 years, Joseph Sulka of McDonald; one daughter, Michele Sulka of Denver, CO; one son, BJ Sulka of Poland; one brother, Bud (Ann) Lomax III of Longmont, CO; one sister, Sondra (Tom) Foley of Barrington, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pam was preceded in death by her father, William "Bud" Lomax in December of 2011.
A Memorial Service will be held Monday, 11:00 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
Friends will be received Sunday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Monday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
The family was blessed to have the most amazing care provided by Hospice of the Valley and they requests any gifts be made to Hospice of the Valley, Hospice House, 9801 Sharrott Road, Poland, Ohio 44514.
