New Middletown- Norma Lois Berry Berner Pisor, age 86, died on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at the Hospice House following a brief illness.
She was born in Tarentum, PA on September 24, 1928, a daughter of the late William D. and Helen Woods Berry. Norma was raised by her grandparents, the late Katie Elizabeth Tuttle and Andrew Hepler Berry and was adopted by the late Howard Hepler Berry and Marie J. Berry.
She was a 1948 graduate of Mars High School. Mrs. Pisor was the former President of the Butler Humane Society, a Red Cross volunteer at Butler Memorial Hospital, a former board member of Lawrence County Humane Society, and a member of Struthers Parkside Church.
Mrs. Pisor devoted her life to the welfare and betterment of animals and taught love and concern for all of God's creatures.
She obtained her amateur pilot's license and was a member of the Butler Pilot's Club. Norma was also an avid reader.
In addition to her parents and grandparents, Mrs. Pisor was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Pisor on January 11, 1999.
Survivors include her son, Howard Berner of Rural Valley, PA; grandchildren, Amanda Diane Tyre of Bloomington, GA, Melissa Ann Keller of Freedom, PA and Jason Steven Angello of Columbus, NJ; and her brother, James Berry.
In honoring her wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
The Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers is handling arrangements.
