Norma A. Burkey

North Lima - Norma A. Burkey, 86, died Thursday evening, April 18, 2013 at Assumption Village.
Mrs. Burkey was born July 25, 1926 in Youngstown, a daughter of Edward and Catherine Scripp Bardon.
She attended South High School and worked as a Certified Nurse's Assistant for Diamonhead Nursing Home for 17 years, retiring in 1995.
Mrs. Burkey was a former member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Boardman. In her spare time, Norma enjoyed boating and camping with her family, and traveling.
She is survived by her daughter, Loraine (Larry) Jacobs of Hubbard; three sons, Joseph (Marlene) Popovich of Pensacola, FL, Randall (Laura) Burkey of Macon, GA, and Gary (Melody) Burkey of Fort Walton Beach, FL; four grandchildren, Joseph (Melissa) Popovich of Lake Latonka, PA, Thomas Kelly, Jaime Kelly-Gilliland, and Daniel Kelly, all of Hubbard; and six great grandchildren, Jason and Kayla Kelly, Daniel Kelly, Colin Gilliland, and Emily and Joseph Popovich.
In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Burkey.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at the new Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market Street, Boardman. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Burkey's family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to Norma's dear friend, Nancy Kennedy, for her friendship, love, and care she has shown to her over the years.
The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions in Mrs. Burkey's name to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market Street, Boardman, Ohio 44512.
