BOARDMAN - Norma B. Bowes, 81 of Boardman, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boardman.
Mrs. Bowes was born September 4, 1928 in Portland, OR, the daughter of Faye Hunter Barnes, and moved to this area as a child.
Mrs. Bowes was a 1946 graduate of South High School, where she served as secretary for the reunion committee. She was a homemaker and worked as a bookkeeper for the Tunno Insurance Company. She loved to do needle work, was an excellent seamstress, quilter, and enjoyed making gifts for people which will be treasured forever.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years Ernest "Ernie" Bowes whom she married May 14, 1949. She is also survived by one daughter Elizabeth Ann Schomaker of Taylor Mill, KY; a son, William (Marianne) Bowes of Struthers, five grandchildren, Billy (Fiancée Bridget Gates) Bowes, David Bowes, Kevin Schomaker, Alex Schomaker, and Ryan Bowes; one great granddaughter, Anna Belle Bowes ; two sisters, Lucille (Donald) Shreve, and Lois (Mike) Lunich ; and one brother Leo (Susan) Barnes.
She was preceded in death by her Mother.
Family and friends will be received Saturday from 10:00 - 10:45 am where funeral services will be at 11:00 at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers.
