Boardman - Noreen M. Schneider, 70, died Monday evening, November 10, 2014 at Vibra Hospital in Boardman after a three year battle with ovarian cancer.
Noreen was born September 17, 1944 in Youngstown, a daughter of Thomas and Mary Sheridan Casey.
She was a 1962 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School. Mrs. Schneider first worked as a secretary at IBM in Youngstown and then as a sales assistant at Butler Wick, which later became Stifel Nicolaus, retiring in 2008 after almost 30 years of service.
She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Boardman.
There was nothing in life Noreen enjoyed more than spending time with her family and being "Mimi" to her eight grandchildren. She always looked forward to annual family vacations in Siesta Key, FL and especially visiting the Beach Bazaar with her grandchildren. In her free time, Mrs. Schneider also enjoyed a day out shopping.
She is survived by her husband, Michael A. Schneider, whom she married November 26, 1966; three sons, Michael Schneider of Boardman, Mark (Crystal) Schneider of Canfield, and Bob (Stacy) Schneider of Canfield; two sisters, Kathleen (Joseph) Eperjesi of Boardman and Theresa (Nick) Granitto of Youngstown; brother, Robert (Jackie) Casey of Poland; sister-in-law, Jean Casey of Boardman; eight grandchildren, Alexis, Michael, Marina, Justin, Jessica, Morgan, Alex, and Ryan Schneider; honorary grandchild, Casey Cottrell; and special friends, Lorraine Dobran and Carol Rickard.
In addition to her parents, Noreen was preceded in death by three brothers, John, James, and Edward Casey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 7345 Westview Dr., Boardman.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman, and Friday from 9-9:45 a.m. at the church.
The family would like to thank the floor staff of G71 at the Cleveland Clinic and all of the other care providers that have been apart of Noreen's care over the last several months.
