Nora E. Lewis, 76
Nora Lewis passed into Heavenly Peace on August 6, 2012. She leaves behind her sister Barbara Conway, Uncle George Myers, a niece and six nephews. Nora was preceded in death by her mother Catherine (Goeppinger) and father Mayo Lewis.
Nora was a graduate of Boardman High School. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from YSU and her Master's from Westminster College. She earned an additional 45 hours from Kent State, Miami University and Toronto University.
Nora's teaching career spanned 30 years of teaching in the Youngstown City Schools System. She taught at Grant, Garfield and Bennett schools.
Nora was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, Ohio Cultural Alliance, Boardman High School Alumni Association, Y.E.A., O.E. A., N.E.A., and NEOTA, Mahoning Valley Retired Teachers, Association for the Education of Young Children, International Reading Association and many others.
Nora had a profound love of the arts. She was an avid supporter of music and drama, both amateur and professional. She traveled the world and took great pleasure in sharing her adventures and enlightenment with family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Good Hope Lutheran Church on Homestead Dr., where she was a member. A luncheon in Nora's honor will follow.
