Nick Sylvester, 86 Lowellville- Nick Sylvester, 86, of 430 East Wood Street, died Thursday evening at Forum Health Northside Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Sylvester was born April 22, 1916 in Lowellville, a son of the late John and Elizabeth Yeropoli Sylvester. He attended school in Struthers, and was a lifelong area resident. He worked as a Scarfer and an Inspector at Youngstown Sheet & Tube retiring in 1977 after 34 years of service. A member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lowellville, he enjoyed gardening and his family, of which was a big part of his life. Besides his wife the former Ann F. Travaline, whom he married August 13, 1937, he is survived by three daughters: Elizabeth âa�A"Bettyâa�A� and son-in-law Ralph Jordan of Canfield; Lucy and son-in-law Don Rachic and Doris and son-in-law Jim Smith both of Lowellville; a sister; ten grandchildren; and twelve great-grandcildren. He is preceded in death by a daughter Eleanor Staneff ; two sisters; and eight brothers. A memorial service will be held 12 PM, Saturday at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 AM-11:45 AM Saturday prior to the service.
