Poland - Nick Olesko, 93, of Poland, died March 11, 2010 at the Glenellen Retirement Community.
Mr. Olesko was born November 3, 1916 in Campbell, a son of Prokop and Anna Olesko. He resided in Campbell until he moved to Poland over 20 years ago.
He was a 1935 graduate of Campbell Memorial High School. Mr. Olesko worked in the Coupling Department for Youngstown Sheet and Tube, retiring after 41 years of service and retired from Gray's Drug Store in Struthers after 22 years of service.
Mr. Olesko was a United States Army Veteran, serving during World War II for the Battery A 196th Field Artillery Battalion and fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
His wife, the former Helen E. Vezse, whom he married November, 10, 1945, died January 23, 2003. He leaves his daughter, Nancy (Richard) Wroblewski of Poland; his son, Nicholas A. (Stephanie) Olesko of Poland; three grandchildren, Nicholas J. (Beatrice) Olesko, Suzanne N. Olesko, both of Poland, and Becca L. Olesko of Latrobe, PA.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Nosik and Olga Lorentz; and a brother, John Olesko.
Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral in Poland, where family and friends will be received Saturday from 10-10:45 a.m. Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
