Nicholas R. "Nick" Timar, 87, died peacefully on Thursday, January 28, 2016, following a lengthy illness. He was born in Youngstown on January 10, 1929 to the late, Edward and Valeria Filimon Timar and was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School.
Following graduation, Nick proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. He was employed at Youngstown Sheet & Tube for over 30 years and retired from Jones and Laughlin in Pittsburgh.
Nick was an avid golfer and loved his Cleveland Browns, Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of the Argus Lodge in Canfield.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Jean (Welsh) Timar of Canfield; daughter, Janis (Joe) Martin of Struthers; son, Scott (Charlene) Timar of Phoenix; three grandchildren, Nikki and Kristy Timar and Joseph (Erika) Rudzik; six great grandchildren and two brothers, George (Veronica) Timar and Donald Timar.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward.
In honoring his wishes, there will be no calling hours and services will be held at a later date.
