Poland - Neil Matt Hantula, 96, died Sunday evening at his residence .
Neil was born April 4, 1915 in Aurora, OH. He has been a lifelong area resident.
He was a mechanic at various Chevrolet dealerships. Neil was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during WW II, where he received a Bronze Star Medal, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, and 5 Bronze Stars. He also enjoyed gardening.
Neil is survived by three daughters, Sandra (Richard) Miller of Poland, Carol (Ken) Valiquette of Lakeland, FL, and Patricia Hantula of Poland; 7 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 great- great grand-child; and a sister, Ina MacGregor of Saginaw, TX.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Catherine Agnes Caddick; a son, Donald; a brother, Sulo Salmi "Whitey"; and a great grandson, Dylan.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 7:00PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
