Nancy Joyce Burson

Boardman - Nancy Joyce Burson, 83, of Boardman, formerly of Alliance and Salem, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 22, 2007. Mrs. Burson was born August 31, 1923 in Moline, Illinois, a daughter of Floyd and Alma Olsen Ailes. She moved to the Youngstown area in 1980 after living in Alliance and Salem. Mrs. Burson was a graduate of Alliance High School. She worked for 15 years as a switchboard operator for Electric Furnace Company in Salem starting in 1963 and she was a homemaker. She was a member of Salem Methodist Church and was a member of the choir. Mrs. Burson also loved music, dancing, and traveling. She leaves three daughters, Julie (Rick) Ann Razo of Poland, OH, Susan Austin of Newbern, NC, and Becky Simpson of Leetonia, OH; two sons, Tom Burson of Parker, CO and Scott Burson of FL; one sister, Martha (Jack) Grapentine of Enon, OH; one brother, James (Esther) Ailes of Alliance, OH; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Ailes. Funeral services will be held Monday, 11:00 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland Chapel with Pastor David Cretella officiating. Interment will be in the Fairmont Cemetery, Alliance.
