Youngstown - Nan J. Reeveley, 91, formerly of Poland, died Thursday, February 18, 2016 at the Paisley House.
Miss Reeveley was born September 24, 1924 in Cleveland, OH, a daughter of Thomas and Helen Nelson Reeveley.
She was a 1942 graduate of The Rayen School. She worked as a Short Hand Reporter first for the Army in Baltimore, and then the Air Force Base in Vienna, and later the IRS. She was a long standing member of Trinity United Methodist in Youngstown and a member of Waves National Unit 21.
Nan was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during WW II.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, Bernie Claar; and sister-in-law, Carol Reeveley; nieces and nephews; Patricia Claar, Rick Claar, and Nancy Schweitzer all of Colorado; Sheri Lynn Denton of Missouri; and locally, Lori Duraney, Kimberly Weimer , Susan Trimacco, Melinda Reeveley, and Thomas Reeveley; and several great- nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Nan was preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas Robert and Roger Dale Reeveley and one sister, Beryl Claar.
Most remarkable about Nan was her dedication to the service of people, including her family, friends and the community. She was a longstanding volunteer at Meals on Wheels, sponsored two Korean children and was always helping someone in any way she could.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 4:00 PM at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers.
Friends and family will be received Sunday 2:00-3:45PM at the funeral home, with military honors.
