Boardman, Ohio - Myrtle Emogene Blake, 86, died Friday morning, January 15, 2016 at the Greenbriar.
Mrs. Blake was born December 2, 1929 in Burnsville, WV, a daughter of John and Violet Wine.
She was a 1948 graduate of Burnsville High School. On January 29, 1949, she married Bernard Blake, and shortly later they relocated to Youngstown. She worked as a teller for Dollar Bank in Boardman. Mrs. Blake was also a dedicated homemaker, wife, and mother. While raising her children, she was active in the PTA and their activities.
In her free time, she loved taking her children on trips to Lake Placid and bowling.
She was a member of Woodworth Church of the Brethren and was very active in the community over the years.
Her husband, Bernard, preceded her in death on June 2, 2010. She is survived by her son, Rohn Blake of Poland, OH; a daughter, Rena Masters of Burnsville, WV; two brothers, Verdine Wine of Youngstown and Johnny Wine of Weston, WV; a sister, Madeline Geyer of Iowa; and five grandchildren, John, Lindsey, Cody, Taylor, and Danielle; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Blake was preceded in death by three brothers, Doyle, Hoy, and Jerry Wine; and two sisters, Geraldine Brown and Arlene Conrad.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Orlando Cemetery in Orlando, West Virginia.
Arrangements are being handled by the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman.
