Muriel A. Kempers

Boardman - Muriel A. Kempers, 76, of Boardman, died Early Tuesday morning at the Cleveland Clinic.

Muriel was born May 17, 1938 in Boston, MA, a daughter of Thomas and Rose Kodad Kilroy. She was raised in Boston and came to this area in 1973.

A well known educator with West Branch school district, YSU and Kent-Salem supervisor of student teachers, Muriel worked for many years for the Ohio Dept. of Education. She also taught fourth grade for fourteen years in Hanover, Mass.

Muriel graduated from Boston State Teacher's college with a Bachelor's and a Masters degree. She was a member of the Mahoning Retired Teachers Association, Ohio Education Association and former President of Delta Kappa Gamma.

She leaves her loving husband, Edward of 56 plus years, her three sons, Eugene (Cindy) Kempers of Desmoines, IA, Edward (Debbie) Kempers Jr. of Poland, and David (Melissa Geer) Kempers of Hudson. Grandchildren, Eugene and Dawna of Iowa; Mackenzie and Elizabeth of Poland and three great-grandchildren; Brayden Alyviana, and Dakota; and loving sister, Nancy (Joseph) Sullivan of Hanover, MA.

She was a most wonderful wife for more than 56 years, as well as a most loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister and aunt of several nieces and nephews in the Boston area.

Preceding her in death were a daughter, her parents, and four siblings.

A Prayer Service will be held Saturday, 9:15 AM at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, Boardman followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church at 10:00 AM with Fr. Phillip Rogers officiating. Interment will be at Lake Park Cemetery.

Friends will be received Friday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
