Mrs. Marion J Hurtuk

December 31, 1929 — December 18, 2014

Marion June Farnell Hurtuk, died peacefully at home on Thursday, while listening to her daughter recite the 23rd Psalm. Born on December 31, 1929, she was the beloved wife of George Stephen Hurtuk for 61 years.

Together they had four children, Lynn (John) Hawkins of Mentor-on-the-Lake, OH, Janice Hurtuk of Boardman; Robert (Kathy) Hurtuk of Poland and Michael (Martha) Hurtuk of Poland, all of whom loved and admired her for her sweet disposition. She was an inspiration and a blessing to her six grandchildren, Ilona, George, Robert, Elise, Kevin and Ryan.

She was a graduate of South High School (1947) and Youngstown State University (1952) and was a member of Poland Presbyterian Church. Marion was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Robert A. Farnell; and infant grandson, Michael Matthew Hurtuk, the son of Michael and Martha Hurtuk and brother of Kevin and Ryan.

The family suggests contributions to the Poland Branch of the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11:00am in the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 North Main St. Poland, OH 44514, with the Rev. William Wolfgang officiating. Burial will follow in Poland Riverside Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 2:00-4:00pm and Monday from 10:00am-10:45am in the funeral home.
