Boardman - Aldine F. Bame, 91, died Thursday evening, August 22, 2013 at the Greenbriar.
Mrs. Bame was born January 25, 1922 in Dixonville, PA, a daughter of Norman and Myrtle Ludington Hill.
She was a 1940 graduate of Green Township High School in Pennsylvania. Aldine married her husband, Richard S. Bame, on February 27, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland, while he was serving in the Army Air Corps. During the war, Mrs. Bame worked at a war factory in Cleveland. In 1948, Aldine and Richard, moved to Boardman. She worked for Strouss' Department Store in downtown Youngstown as a clerk for several years. Mrs. Bame later retired from Pezzenti Music Mart in Boardman, where she managed the music studios.
Mrs. Bame was a former member of Berean Baptist Church, Evangel Baptist Church, and a current member of Old North Church. While at Evangel Baptist Church, Mrs. Bame was a third grade Sunday School teacher and was involved with the adult and children's choirs. She also taught Sunday School at Old North Church. Mrs. Bame was a member of the Boardman High School Faculty Wives Club and a member of the Mother Singers.
Her hobbies included knitting, teaching many people over the years, cooking and gardening.
Her husband, Richard, died October 6, 2000. Mrs. Bame is survived by her daughter, Shery (Kevan) Larson of Boardman; grandson, Jeffrey (Julie) Larson of Boardman; three great-grandchildren, Ava Ruth Young, Allison Deborah Young, and Jocelyn Shery Larson; two sisters, Yveetes Simpson and LaRue Ditch, both of Mansfield, OH; two brothers, Eugene (Donnie) Hill of Oklahoma City, OK and Bill (Joan) Hill of Vaughnsville, OH; and sister-in-law, Lois Hill of Mansfield, OH.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Bame was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and infant Charles Hill; two brothers-in-law, Alex Simpson and George Ditch; and great-granddaughter, Kate Michelle Larson.
Services will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Old North Church, 7105 Herbert Road, Canfield. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2-3:45 p.m. at the church, prior to the service.
