Alex S. Kollay, III
Boardman

Services will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m. at Heritage Presbyterian Church for Alex S. Kollay, III. Also known as the "Candyman". He passed away Thursday morning at Omni Manor.
Mr. Kollay was born Dec. 26, 1937 in Youngstown, a son of Alexander S. and Pearl E. Houser Kollay. He had worked for US Steel-McDonald Works and retired from the maintenance department with the Boardman Township Police.
Surviving him is his loving wife, the former Georgette DePillo whom he married Nov. 23, 1961, his brother Robert J. (Judy) Kollay, and his sister Carol J. (Richard) Zebrasky both of Canfield. His mother in law Marge DePillo of Boardman, sisters in law Kathy Willig of Youngstown and Maggie (Jim) Naples of Boardman. Also, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed fishing and gardening and was famous for his tomatoes. He and Georgette enjoyed organizing many bus trips where he was known for telling jokes. He was an avid Browns and Indians fan.
Preceding him in death besides his parents is his father in law Joseph DePillo.
Friends may call Sunday from 2:00 p.m.-5:00 p.m. at Davis-Becker Funeral Home and on Monday from 12:00p.m.-12:45p.m. at the church.
