Monserrate Mercado Negron, 72 Youngstown- Monserrate Mercado,72, died early Monday morning at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston of Heart Failure. Mrs. Mercado was born in Barcelonta, Puerto Rico June 10, 1932, a daughter of Gregory Mercado and Rafaela Negron. She was a homemaker, who was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Spanish Evangelical Church in Youngstown She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth L. (Christopher) Bugno and Sandra and (fiancé Sammy)Whitten and of Struthers; one sister, Aquilda Mercado of Puerto Rico; two brothers, Luis and Harry Mercado both of Puerto Rico; four grandchildren, Richard J. Stiles; Jeremiah J., Christine N., and Alex C. Bugno all of Youngstown. She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert E. and Patrick GaryWhitten; and three brothers, Tony, John, and Carlos Mercado. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Funeral services will be Saturday 11 AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland. Friends may call Friday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
