Molly Catherine McBride, 21
MOREHEAD, KY. Molly Catherine McBride, 21, died on Saturday, May 18, 2013, after being involved in a two-vehicle accident near Bardstown, Ky.
Molly was born on Dec. 17, 1991, in Jacksonville, Ala., and was the daughter of Scott and Jill McBride of Morehead.
Molly was a junior biomedical sciences major at Morehead State University and was planning for a career as a physician¹s assistant. She was a 2010 graduate of Rowan County Senior High School. She also attended Montgomery County High School and McNabb Middle School in Mt. Sterling, Ky. Molly was an oboist in each school¹s band program and was a regular member of the annual Kentucky Music Educators Association district honor band. She also participated in each school¹s girls¹ softball program. Molly¹s pre- and elementary school education was received in Carrollton, Ga. At Morehead State, Molly was a dedicated student who enjoyed helping others, especially through her work as a tutor in MSU¹s Tutoring and Learning Center.
Both of Molly¹s parents are Morehead State University employees. Scott is dean of the Caudill College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Jill is the adult learner coordinator and student veteran advocate.
Molly is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Sue Van Zandt of Poland, Ohio; paternal step grandmother, Martha McBride of Canfield; and her extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. She will also be missed by her many friends and classmates, and her family of pets.
Molly was preceded in death by two infant brothers, Michael and Matthew; paternal grandparents, Twila Ulicny and Harry McBride; paternal step grandfather Karl Ulicny, M.D.; and maternal grandfather, Paul Van Zandt, Ph.D.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2013, at the Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel in Morehead with Dr.
Geary Scott officiating.
An interment service will be held in Northeast Ohio, where Molly¹s grandmothers reside at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland.
She will be interred at Crest Haven Memorial Gardens in Rogers.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. , May 22, 2013, at the Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead and from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Friday, May 24, 2013, at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home in Poland.
