SURPRISE, ARIZ. Miriam E. Edie, 95, passed away peacefully at her home Aug. 5, in Surprise, where she resided for the past 11 years.
Miriam was born Oct. 20, 1920, in Youngstown, a daughter of L. E. and Harriott (Russell) Moreman.
She was a South High School graduate and attended Mt. Union College.
Miriam worked at Moreman-Yerian Insurance Company, then became a homemaker, lovingly raising two sons.
Miriam¹s hobbies included playing bridge and working crossword puzzles.
Her husband, Morris Edie, whom she married Oct. 20, 1949, died July 17, 1963.
She is survived by one son, Raymond (Jacalyn Danchise-Edie) Edie of Phoenix; three grandchildren, Stephen Edie, Christie-Anne Edie-Veras, and Angela Edie-Osborne; three stepgrandchildren, Jessica Dye, Pete Packard, and Francine Packard; and several great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Miriam was preceded in death by one son, James Edie (Freda Packard); and three sisters, Mildred Darr, Virginia Yerian, and Carolyn Moreman.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 18, at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman.
Friends may call one hour prior to the time of the funeral service.
The family asks, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Fitch YMCA Metro Office (Patty), 17 North Champion St., Youngstown, OH 44503, or to a charity of your choice.
