STRUTHERS - Mildred V. West, 73, of Sexton Street, died Sunday morning at the Briarfield in Mineral Ridge after a 4 year battle with Alzheimer's disease. She was born January 16, 1935 in Chatsworth, Ga., a daughter of Frank and Mable Holland Watts. For 15 years, she and friends operated a cleaning service and did cleaning work for several businesses in the area. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her friends, family and especially grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Glen West, whom she married August 10, 1952; one son, Tom (Judy) West of Louisiana; one daughter, Mary Lynn (Rick) Buckner of Vienna; 11 grandchildren, Christopher, Matthew, Megan, Alicia, Jessi, Adam, Alexis, Ashley, Amanda, Zachary and Douglas; three great-grandchildren, Carlos, Aiden and Patrick; and one sister. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Glen West, Jr.; a son-in-law, Edward Johnston; and numerous siblings. There will be no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
